Itinerary

The tour itinerary is organized so that the visitor has adequate time to adapt to the geography of Cusco before taking the famous Inca Trail. The service begins and ends with the pick-up of the tourist from the Cusco airport and the transfer to the same place. The service is all-inclusive.

Day 1
Cusco | Airport pick up
  • After prior coordination with your sales agent (by WhatsApp or email), the tourist is picked up from the airport in the city of Cusco.
  • The visitor will be taken to his/her tourist hotel (2 star service) in the city of Cusco.
  • The rest of the day the visitor will have free time for lunch and to stroll through the historic streets of the capital city of the Inca Empire.
  • Overnight at Cusco tourist hotel (standard service).
Day 2
Cusco | City Tour
  • After breakfast in the hotel dining room, visitors will be picked up around 8 am to begin the Cusco City Tour.
  • The visitor will first visit the historic Cathedral of Cusco.
  • Then, a minivan ride takes you to the Sacsayhuamán fortress. After the tour, always with a guide, you will visit the three Inca ruins on the outskirts of the city: Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.
  • On the return trip to Cusco, we stop to visit the famous Coricancha, the Temple of the Sun.
  • The Cusco City Tour ends at approximately 1 pm. Visitors then have the afternoon and evening free.
  • Overnight at Cusco tourist hotel (standard service).
Day 3
Cusco | Sacred Valley
  • Day 3, after breakfast at the tourist hotel, begins with the visitor being picked up at the hotel door at approximately 7 am.
  • The first tourist destination we will visit is Pisac, famous for its terraces, its royal enclosures, temples and even an Inca cemetery.
  • The trip then continues for 1 hour and 15 minutes to the town of Urubamba where visitors will enjoy a buffet lunch with the best of Peruvian cuisine.
  • Then the trip continues towards Ollantaytambo, famous for stone constructions such as the Enclosure of the 10 Niches, the Temple of the Sun or the Baths of the Ñusta.
  • On the way back to the city of Cusco, you will visit the town of Chinchero, a site famous for its archaeological site and its textile centers.
  • The Sacred Valley of the Incas tour ends at approximately 6pm.
  • Overnight in a tourist hotel in Cusco (standard service).
Day 4
Cusco | Inca Trail | Huayllabamba
  • On day 4, the 4-day Inca Trail adventure begins. At 5 am, you will be picked up for the trip to km 82 of the railway to Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu, where the hike begins.
  • On the first day, you will cover an average of 13 kilometers. You will visit the archaeological site of Patallaqta. In addition, you will appreciate a beautiful Andean landscape. The tour includes food, camping, porters, entrance fees and the company of a professional guide.
  • The night will be spent at the Huayllabamba camp (subject to change based on availability).
Day 5
Huayllabamba | WarmiwañuscaPacaymayo
  • The second day of the Inca Trail is 15 kilometers. That day we ascend to the highest point in the Warmiwañusca pass (4,200 meters above sea level).
  • Then, you descend into the valley of the Pacaymayu River where you can see beautiful landscapes, increasingly greener.
  • Lunch and dinner are served at the Pacaymayo campsite. The night will be spent in a comfortable campsite (subject to change based on availability).
Day 6
Pacaymayo | Wiñayhuayna
  • The third day of the Inca Trail is one of the most beautiful as you will see landscapes of the Cusco jungle and incredible Inca constructions. That day the walk will be approximately 12 kilometers.
  • The first archaeological site to be visited will be Runkurakay, which is characterized by its clouds.
  • Then we visit the archaeological site of Sayacmarca and the Inca site of Phuyupatamarca, both where jungle vegetation begins to appear.
  • Finally, we will stop at the Wiñayhuayna camp where we will have lunch, dinner and visit its archaeological site.
  • That night we will rest in a comfortable camp in Wiñayhuayna (subject to change depending on availability).
Day 7
Wiñayhuayna | Machu Picchu | Cusco
  • The fourth day of the Inca Trail starts early with a 4-kilometer hike from Wiñayhuayna to Intipunku (Sun Gate of Machu Picchu).
  • After having the first panoramic photos of the Inca site, we will continue descending towards the Inca citadel. The tour will be circuit 2, the most recommended as it includes most of the temples, as well as the classic postcard photo.
  • After a 2 hour 30 minute visit to Machu Picchu we will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes in a trip of only 30 minutes. There we will have free time for lunch (not included in the tour).
  • At the time indicated by the guide, we will board the Expedition train for the train and bus trip to the city of Cusco.
  • Overnight in a tourist hotel in Cusco (standard 2-star service).
Day 8

  • On day 8 of the tour we will have the whole day free to enjoy the historic streets of the city of Cusco.
  • It is recommended to make the last purchases of the trip.
