Itinerary
Day 1
CUSCO | SANTA MARÍA

Pick up from the hotel and leave Cusco towards Abra Malaga, after contemplating this snowy mountain. We descend on bicycles to Santa Maria. After lunch you can go canoeing.

Day 2
SANTA MARÍA | SANTA TERESA

We will have breakfast before heading to Santa Teresa. We will take a hiking route that is ascending in its first stretch. In Santa Teresa we have lunch and we have the option to visit the thermal baths of Cocalmayo.

Day 3
SANTA TERESA | AGUAS CALIENTES

From Santa Teresa and after breakfast, we will leave in the direction of Aguas Calientes. Here we can also enjoy the thermal baths. Don’t forget your bathing clothes.

Day 4
MACHU PICCHU | CUSCO

On the fourth day we will climb up to Machu Picchu, we will walk all over the wonder. Then we can have lunch and wait for the train service to Ollantaytambo and finally take the tourist transport to Cusco.


Detailed itinerary

Day 1
CUSCO | SANTA MARÍA
  • Our shuttle service will be at the door of your hotel from 6:00 am or probably minutes before. This is given prior coordination. Once we have all the travelers in the transportation we start the trip.
  • We will leave in the direction of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, after approximately two hours of travel, we will arrive at Ollantaytambo where we can do some shopping or have a local breakfast. Another option will be to access the restrooms.
  • We will continue our trip in the tourist transport until we reach the Abra Malaga, where if the weather is good, we will be able to appreciate its majesty. After that we will descend on our bicycles in the company of our guide.
  • It will be important to follow the indications of our guide, who will make sure that we check the condition of the bikes, test them and show our respective conformity. He will also give us indications to avoid accidents, we have to be attentive.
  • The descent time will be approximately 2 hours, before reaching our destination and have lunch, we can visit the archaeological site of Huamanmarca. After that we will continue our way to Santa Maria where we can have lunch and rest.
  • In the afternoon and after enjoying our delicious lunch in a tourist restaurant, you can go canoeing on the Blanco River. We will have all the necessary equipment for this activity. Finally we will spend the night in our hotel.
Day 2
SANTA MARÍA | SANTA TERESA
  • The second day we will start early, at 6:00 a.m. we will have breakfast and our belongings ready. We will have a short break while the guide will explain the activities for the day.
  • This day we will have to make a hiking route through the jungle of Cusco, this climate is warm temperate. So we will need light clothing to avoid sweltering.
  • During this course we will follow an Inca Trail or Qhapac Ñan, this ancient road connected Machu Picchu with the Vilcabamba valley. The walking time is approximately 4 hours, until the first resting point in Quellomayo where we will have lunch.
  • We will continue our way along the Vilcanota riverbed until we reach Cocalmayo, which is very close to Santa Teresa. These thermal baths are really incredible, with crystalline waters and with the perfect temperature.
  • During the night we will be able to have our rooms at our disposal. We will also have dinner and rest in our tourist hotel.
Day 3
SANTA TERESA | AGUAS CALIENTES
  • This day we will also start early. Breakfast will be ready at 6 am at a tourist restaurant in Santa Teresa. We will pack our belongings and have a short trip to a recreational center.
  • In the recreational center it is possible to practice the adventure sport zipline or zip line. All equipment is guaranteed to be safe and in perfect condition. This activity lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours.
  • After this activity we will walk to Hidroeléctrica, where we can rest and share our experiences with our companions. We will also enjoy a nutritious lunch to continue our trip.
  • It is estimated to arrive to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon. Hiking time is approximately three hours. During this hike we will see the vast vegetation of the jungle. In Aguas Calientes our hotel will be waiting for us.
  • An option in this place is to visit the thermal baths, which is not included in the tour. We will also have an exquisite dinner before resting. The next day it is time to ascend to Machu Picchu.
Day 4
MACHU PICCHU | CUSCO
  • This day we will have to wake up earlier than the previous days. We have to have breakfast at 4:30 am in order to start our hike at 5:00 am.
  • Another option is to take the bus to the entrance area to Machu Picchu. This bus takes a maximum of 30 minutes to make the trip, while the hike takes 2 hours.
  • Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, our guide will take us on a tour of circuit 2, where we can take our postcard photo and start our visit from the Guardian’s house. In the distance we can see one of the main entrances to the Intipunku.
  • We will visit places such as the terraces or cultivation area, the houses, the House of the Inca, the Temple or main square, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the three windows, the Temple of the Condor, the Intihuatana, the Sacred Rock and more.
  • Before returning to Aguas Calientes and in case you have made a reservation for a buffet lunch at the Tinkuy restaurant, we will be able to access and taste its delicious desserts, drinks and main dishes based on Andean food.
  • In Aguas Calientes we can stroll through the streets, visit a bar for a chat or simply visit the food and handicraft market. Waiting for the departure of our train.
  • The train that is made in the basic reservation is the Expedition train, but for an extra price you can access the Vistadome. It is more spacious and has a live music show among other attractions.
  • The train will take us to Ollantaytambo, once there, we will board a bus or tourist transport that will take us to Cusco. It is estimated to arrive in Cusco at 9 pm, the end of the tour will be coordinated, it can be in a central square or at the door of your hotel.
